There is no fuel tank drain plug, unfortunately. There are a few ways to empty the tank. Since you probably want to replace the fuel filter again, one way to drain the tank is to remove the fuel filter, connect a suitable rubber hose to the fuel pipe from the tank and direct the other end of the hose into a catch container. Remove the fuel pump relay in the trunk fuse box and jump terminals 3 and 5 with a large paperclip bent into a U shape. To run the fuel pump, just turn the key to the second position, ignition ON, but do not start the engine. Monitor the progress as the fuel is expelled and turn the key to the OFF position if you need to change catch containers or the fuel tank is emptied. Don't let the fuel pump run dry - shut it off as soon as the last of the fuel is emptied from the tank.

Cheers,

Don

If you want to clean the tank you will have to move it back into the boot and remove the fuel pump for access. Follow the procedure for removing the fuel tank which you will find by doing a search on the forum.

Default Still trouble

I have now emptied the gas tank, filled new gas and checked the gas flow to the engine. But it still won’t run properly. I also checked that the vacuum system is not leaking.
A guess is that the engine gets sufficient amount fuel at the start, but then gets too little - why?
A question: After having changed the throttle house assembly, it should not be necessary to do any kind of ECU reprogramming…?
