Got the XK8 home and cleaned up. Only problem I have is I dont think I can own just one, I really need an XKR now too. More photos when I figure out how to upload them.

The bumper won't stay that way, the clear bra is worth it.

 

I just cant decide if I want an XKR next, the fast S type R or the classic XJS. I cant believe I fell in love with these Jaguars this quickly. Think I'll start with an an XJ too.

 

Just keep in mind that for every out-of-warranty Jaguar you bring into your stable, you need to set aside at least three grand as your rolling maintenance fund....

Is that 3000 a year? I'm going to be relying heavily on my limited ability as an aircraft technician, mostly electrical, to do most of the maintenance myself. Hopefully we can keep it under 2000. Many years working on British aircraft, hope that will transfer to the cars. And besides that, 70 degrees here in SC today, top down Sunday drive. What a car, it will get whatever it needs.

And be careful of XJ8s, or at least research the air suspension before diving in.

 

Not $3,000 per year - a $3,000 initial stash. As you deplete that stash, refill the coffers as needed....

 

$3000 is about right but a big chunk of that was for spanners and band-aids.

I didn't think to factor in the medical supplies, your absolutely right. And maybe a helmet.

 

I wish I could have gotten out for 3000!! The previous owner NEVEr serviced the car for any thing. I've had to make up for lost time.
Now I don't count cosmetic elective surgery in my maintainence fund!! Lol
