Post First Check-in for Quite a While!

Still alive and kicking, and 4 years ago after departed from Arizona, we are now permanently living in an Ocala, N Florida, 'Over 55 Community,'.

Having just turned 95, this will have been, more than likely, my final house move, before "Crossing the Bar,"

For what it is worth, my Platinum LHD 2001 XKR convertible, with a mere 47,000 US miles on the clock, had been occasionally giving me 'hesitation' problems when accelerating hard from 1st gear, initially, with no indication of a problem, until last year, when finally the Check Engine Light showed a misfire on the #3 cylinder, so I consulted a local mobile techie, who changed the #3 coil, which helped, but didn't entirely cure the problem.

However, since I was no longer challenging, (and not winning of course,) all the 'go fast' clowns who inhabit the straightaways in our area, just below the speed limit, looking for likely competitors.
(Now, obviously much too old to go to jail for driving over a 'ton,' I just have to 'grin and bear it!'

However, as a one time DIYI, and with a full set of new plugs, plus the remaining 7 new coils, I decided it was high time to take action myself, and change the lot.
Lo and behold, it actually worked, and now runs perfectly.

One final thing in that last night, after sunset, I needed to use my hazard lights in the middle of a long 'pile-up,' (Never before have I had to use them!) but when all got under way, they just would not turn off as prescribed, so had to come home with the ignominy of them still flashing.

Having checked this Forum on the matter for help, I sprayed the button edges with some 'dry lube,' left it over night, and next morning, gently pried all around it with a cut down narrow piece of an old credit card, and it worked again, correctly.

With my apologies for being so verbose, may I wish you all an early very

Merry Christmas, and a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year.
Mac Melhuish.

Good work Mac! Nice to know that sometimes the fixes are simple, right?
Also nice to know that you're still doing some wrenching at 95! I am inspired by this as I am 25 years your junior.
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well!
