Forward looking "parking camera"
The lower front valance was pretty mangled when I bought my 2004 Jag. I might even have helped a bit myself and I never seemed to know exactly where the front of the car was.
So, when I ordered a replacement valance at some $300+ I also looked in to Wireless Backup Cameras. Once I learned that the cost of a decent camera system was only $100+, about a third of the cost of the valance it became a no-brainer.
I ordered a system with a 4" mirror display.. Most, if not all, of those are "clip on" to the existing mirror. That is how I currently have it installed, but I am looking for options to replace the original Jag mirror.
For power, I tapped in to the parking lights for the camera and that has worked well. For the display, I spliced in to the power source for the Jag mirror and added a small inline plug. As a matter of fact, I used a plug that came with the camera system. This source only has power when the ignition switch is in position II. Now, if I turn on parking lights, the display fires up automatically. I am sure that there are 100 other ways to wire it, but this does the trick nicely.
The WiFi camera found the display automatically on the first power up and has worked great ever since. I tested the system on my resent 2000 mile trip. I will need to readjust the angle of the camera a bit upwards, as things now happen too darn fast as I move forwards.
Hopefully I will never have to spend another $300 on new valance again........
Camera mounted under the front center chrome bar.
Mirror display.
Can be used with or without distance markers.

Nice ! True fact that with such a long diving bonnet it's not easy to park it at all, or you have to take such huge margins in order to preserve the paint and bodywork.
Dyou have a link to where you bought this? I don't get it how you get it working with the rear lights as the camera is installed on the front? Is it on all the time?
Thanks

The camera is tapped in to the front little parking lights (which i replaced with a couple of small LEDs at the same time) I.e.light switch in first position turns the camera on.
Copy this link and check it out. This is the unit I used. Ordered from Amazon.
The picture can be flipped and mirrored so it will work in any location.
