Front Strut Mounts
So Please I Replaced My Struts and Strut Mounts on My 1998 XK8 Three Years Ago. I Found Myself Hunting Down a Clunking Noise and To My Dismay. The Strut Mounts are The Problem. I Couldn't Believe They are Bad. Three Years and Probably 15,000 Miles!!? Totally Taken By Surprise for Sure. Could I Have Done Something That Caused This? Or is it Possible The Strut Mounts Were of Poor Workmanship? I Don't Know? Please Any Comments or Suggestions Thank You!!!
If you replaced with OEM, URO or Welsh Poly - they all seem to be of inferior quality. Reach out to @cjd777 (Wayne Tate) or @baxtor (Steve Davis) as they have developed an extremely robust solution for the upper mounts. I had replaced mine probably 6 or 7 times over my 14 years of ownership (oem, URO twice, welsh poly a few times and back to Uro) and last year, switched to their solution - very pleased with the results
Was under the hood yesterday and noticed that the bushings? at the top are different, one is yellow and appears to be in better condition (newer?) And the other is black and in poorer condition. Could this contribute to the slight 'road shake' I get at 65 to 70 mph?
