Good news After Fuel Filter change sharing in case it helps you too
A few days ago, many of us helped each other with a thread i started when I went to change my fuel filter. You know, the new filter made such a postive improvment, I would be selfish not to tell you about it. The old filter was quite blocked, I couldn't blow through it after I took it out. Surprisingly I had no overt drivablility issues. I was wondering to myself if I had lost some power, but I had no way to test it. I always thought it interesting that this was the first car I ever drove that I couldn't see any power lost with the A/C on. Around town I always got 18 mpg.
After the change, there was no noticeable difference for about 30 to 50 miles, then wow. Life is good. My gas milage is now 20 mpg around town and hasn't waivered for days. I don't often drive gentely, love the power. Ironically, now I can certainly see an impact when the Air Conditioner is on. tonight I tested 0 to 60 - 7 seconds again!!! Now when you are cruising and step on the gas pedal, there is that solid power - and as much as you need.
It's funny how a dirty fuel filter didin't impact the ride quality, but certainly impacted the available power. This is so nice to have back for a $25 filter and an hour of my time to install it, I wanted to share. John
