Did all 2000 XK8's come with the headlight washer assembly?

I just purchased an XK8 and when I turn on my windshield wipers the headlight washers do nothing. Is their a separate switch to activate them? Is there a separate fuse for them?

How do you know if your XK8 has headlight washers or not ? or if they simply aren't working ?

My '97 has them but a previous owner disabled them but thats fine with me,

My '99 has them/. Did not see an option for them so I would expect they were standard.
Operation. Work with the wind screen washers. I had to replace the chrome/ glass cover in the lower section of the headlight when I first purchased my XK8. The washer unit pushes out word to function. I would guess they work for some users. Seems a little strange to me. Rich

 

If I remember correctly, the headlamp washers operate on every 5th or 6th use of the screen washers.

 

+1, but I think it is sooner than that. 3 or 4?

BTW, they can be annoying, so some owners pull the fuse. I did. If they don't work after at least 10 tries, take a look at the fuse.

 

What makes the headlight washers extend?......My right one works, but the left one stays in. Is it pressure, or an electric motor......Thanks....Mike
