I am running JTIS it seems incomplete
I downloaded JTIS from one of the sites here and I am running it on my laptop. It runs fine. I am using a virtual XP machine with a 2003 version of XP and it seems to run fine. I also run the ford 2001 worshop manual on the same computer and it is nearly identical software in terms of navigainting and using it.
So it is runnging fine however it appears incomplete, by that I mean there is not a lot of info in it. For example when I go to service ---- 2001 --- xk series --- powertrian --- engine --- vehcile repair it has some procedures but not all of them. For exaple it has a procedure for example it has "Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner RH Vehicles Without: Supercharger" but then it doesn't have the corresponding procedure for vehicles with a supercharger. The latter procedure is available on other years/models though.
Also some of the procedures say "Information not available at this time" when I click it. Is this normal?

The clue is in the first line "Vehicles without supercharger shown, vehicles with supercharger similar" (arrowed in red):

JTIS was developed for use by Jaguar technicians. For this reason many procedures which they know through training and experience either aren't included or have only minimal detail.

The Ford manual is similar as far as having limited info. For instance the manual gives instructions for replacing the heater blend door motor and it goes like this........Remove old blend door motor replace with new.....It fails to mention that the dashboard needs to be removed first...

You might need to navigate to an early model for some things.
If the introduction 1997 has a procedure, then unless it is changed or superseded, it is redundant and sometimes not repeated in later model year repair procedures.
A major change was the AJ27 engine and management so 1999 might have a more detailed procedure than a 2001 because most things are the same.
You might want to read the product introduction and UPDATE publications to see the changes as they were introduced.

This explains a lot. I thought it was random that the 1998 had a bunch of stuff not covered in the 2001 ... as if I didn't need to worry about that. Thanks!
