Default I couldn't wait put the italia's on today

I took the afternoon off and put the wheels on today. They look good but I do need to lower the car around 1". How much does the H&R springs lower the car? Here are a few pictures. Now......... on to the front bumper.

Wow, you've got some serious tread on that car. Looks like the front is higher than the rear in the pic. Do you want to equalize the front and rear ride height when you lower it?

No, the front isn't any higher. I think because the bumper cover is not on it looks like it is. Right now the tires are a 35 series. I think I will be going to a 40 series in the front. I also will be going to a bigger tire in the back. The fronts are a 275-35-18 now( rears are the same)and I will be going to a 275-40-18. And for the new back tires they will be 315-35-18. And yes they are going to fit. Alot of planing and measuring over and over to make sure it's right.

Tell us about the spacers...you've installed them front and rear, yes?

They look like 25mm or so, is that right? Where did you find them?

Lookin' good.

I used a 1" spacer in front and for the rear I used a 1 1/2" spacer but also add a 5mm flat spacer in the rear. I ordered the spacers for a GM to GM. 5 on 4 3/4 to 5 on 4 3/4. They are hubcentric with a 70.5 center bore. I custom machined the mounting side and opened it up to 73.8mm and bored it to .500 (1/2) deep. Alot of work but it's now coming together.

Will some of the tread come out from under the wheel well?

Everything will be inside and under the car. I will have to roll the lip on the rear fenders, just to be on the save side after lower it.

Man, those are like Flintstones tires! You've got to post photos when you get it done. It'll be awesome!

I ran this same set up on my 2000 LS1 Camaro. Most of the Dodge Vipers, Mustangs, Corvettes are also running this set up. The 315 is the MAX for the XK8. I also will have to do some rear wheel well mod's. I will show the pictures of that when I get to it.

Big John
In the forth picture, I like the blade on the front. Getting ready for some serious plowing up there in Minnesota?

Back when they created Jaguar-Land Rover as a division I was expecting to see something along those lines on a show stand as a crowd puller.

It would definitely have had your preferred scale of wheels and tyres as standard.
