Hey all. Been a LONG time since I have been on here. I sold off the Jag sometime ago, still running great after all the issues I had with it if you recall.
I still have the CD of the Jag Repair Manual that I looked at maybe a few times.
Anyone want it?

I have a '03 XKR. Will that manual support it? I have also had no luck getting the normal JTIS to function on my MS VISTA computer. Is yours a .pdf (or some other format)?

This is what is says that it supports and important info on how to install on your system. I don't know in your case if the op system you are using will work with it.

Jaguar Technical Information System (JTIS) -
Issue 21 - Workshop Manual - CD-ROM
Workshop manual information for 2001.5 t0 2004 X-TYPE, 2000 through 2004
MY S-TYPE, 1995-2004 MY Sedan Range, and 1997-2004 MY XK8 is on this CD-ROM.
Limited Support for 1995 and 1996 XJS is also included.

This CD-ROM can be used on any suitable Windows-based PC with a minimum
233 MHz processor, 3.0 Gb hard drive, 8x CD-ROM drive, and 128 Mb RAM.
Once this CD-ROM has been installed, the system will not accept any
previous JTIS CD-ROM.
Note: You must install JTIS 21 to have access to all new information.
Click on the "NEW" button to review the added information.

Adobe Reader program is required to use JTIS 21. If the computer that JTIS is
being installed on does not have Adobe Reader, the most current
program version is a free download from the Adobe website. Click on
"Get Adobe Reader" icon.

IMPORTANT! The JTIS PROGRAM "Help" feature contains the complete operational
instructions for this CD and MUST be used to gain full benefit from this CD.


!!!! JTIS PROGRAM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: !!!!!!

1. Insert CD in drive, run "Setup.exe" program. If "Setup.exe" does not appear,
double click on the icon that appears as a miniature desktop computer labeled "Setup."
2. Once JTIS program is installed, remove JTIS CD. Restart Computer. After
computer is fully restarted, re-insert JTIS CD. Navigate to JTIS program through
"Start" menu to "Programs". Start JTIS program.
3. Proceed to the "Help" icon for complete operational instructions.
4. Once JTIS program is started, select “Service”, select your model & model year,
then use “Text Navigator” button on bottom of screen (2nd from right).

Note: The first time you install JTIS on a PC, it may be necessary to install
Data Access Objects 3.5. If you are unable to access the service directories,
DAO 3.5 MUST be installed. Install DAO 3.5 by opening the DAO35 folder on the
JTIS CD-ROM. Open "Disk 1" folder and run the "SETUP.EXE program from this
folder. If computer will not accept installation of DAO 3.5, reboot computer
in "safe mode" (F8). Then repeat DAO 3.5 installation instructions.

IMPORTANT! THE JAGUAR SERVICE MANUAL “HELP” FEATURE
INCLUDES COMPLETE OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS AND MUST
BE UTILIZED TO GAIN FULL BENEFIT FROM THIS CD!

TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. On rare occasions, when installing the JTIS program on your Windows
XP-based computer, you may receive an error message that is similar to
the following:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
C:\Winnt\System32\config.nt The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate
the application.

If this problem should occur, cease JTIS installation, then install
the "xp_fix.EXE" program that is included on The JTIS CD. Then repeat
installation of the JTIS program.

 

I do recall that when I loaded mine to a XP box at the time it was a little tricky but I got it loaded and it worked.

Thanks for getting back to me I have a 97 xk8 does your cd cover it and does the cd work

 

JTIS 20 is the last tech manual that did NOT have an expiration. When we were issued JTIS 21, I came into work after the NEW YEAR (2004?) and the program did NOT function. I called Jaguar Technical Hotline and was advised that the new protocol was to log onto JBN (Jaguar Business Network) and use the online version.

I reloaded version JTIS 20 on my computer for off-line reference.

There have been 'hacked' versions of JTIS 21 offered on the internet. The JTIS 21 will only be relevant to about 2004MY cars.
