iCarsoft LR 1.0 Doesn't work
I bought one of these from iCarsoft directly. When I connect it I have to manually tell it that it's connected to a 2000 XK. NA or Supercharged isn't an option. No big deal, I suppose. It can read codes from all the modules, which is good. But almost none of the live data will display. Almost all of them say NA. A couple display some data, but it's for things I don't think exist, like a MAP sensor.
Anybody else have this issue? If so, did you fix it? Or shall I return it for a refund?
Thanks.

Yes. I forgot to mention that. After it not showing data I did the firmware update but it still did the same thing - NA on the bulk of the live data items.
Mine only shows the majority of the live data if I plug it in after the engine is running , and use the automatic mode, not the manual data mode.
it is not perfect but if you scroll thru all the engine module sections you should see some live data.

PS/ i have a 2002 XKR

I've never used one of these so try what zray suggests above. If that doesn't work try setting the protocol manually to each of these:-
ISO 9141-2 (5b init, 10.4k baud)
ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID, 500 kbaud)
Ignition has to be on to connect.
For the basic live data you need the ISO 9141 to work - you can get that with an OBD dongle and Torque.
The other alternative is SDD/IDS running on an old laptop with a clone Mongoose cable. This is a cheaper option than the icarsoft and does everything.

I have the LR2.0 and had the same problems. After sending them a couple of LOG files they
sent me an update and it works fine now.

OP,
try this sequence and see if you get anywhere:
Note: I learned these procedures like a monkey. I just kept trying random actions until I got somewhere.
With the car running plug in the icarsoft
Select diagnostics (if you select OBD-II it will not connect, at least mine won’t
Select Jaguar
Select XK TYPE
SELECT YEAR. For me it’s 2002
Select smart scan (selecting manual doesn’t work for me
Select engine control module
Select view data
Select all ( again, selecting individual items doesn’t work for me)
Select Start
Next, With the up arrow push it repeatedly , go up to #91. All the short terms #’s will be displayed . The downstream numbers are wacky so I ignore them (at my own peril I know)
Keep pushing the up arrow until you get to # 65. Then The long term numbers will be displayed.
Note, as you scroll thru the categories You. might see the coolant temp displayed in a nonsensical value like 250 centigrade. Just keep scrolling and it will come up again and be a more logical number
Note: If you are checking out the transmission module sometime follow the same sequence, example, always use smart scan, always select “ALL” categories, etc.
Remember , if you come across the transmission temperature category, it will be actually displaying the engine temp when the car is in park or neutral.
Put the car in reverse or drive and after a few seconds the displayed number will change from the engine temp to the actual transmission temp. This is not a icarsoft issue, it’s a Jaguar thing and there is a service bulletin on it.
I hope this info helps if not , then PM me with your email or text number and we’ll figure it out
