Smile Ignition Key lock assembly

Hello to one and all. Hope no one got infected. We need each other.

I have been having trouble with my battery running down on my 2000 XK8 due to car sitting. Things like the radio won't shut off, Odometer won't shut off and antenna stays up. I believe all these items that are causing the battery to run down are caused by the ignition switch. I have had this problem once before some time back on another car. I solved it at that time by lubricating the switch. Can't remember what lubricant I used. I would like the opinion of my friends as to what to use so as to get the switch to work good instead of worse.

Thanks guys and gals. You're always a big help.

Jaguar issued a few TSBs for battery drain.
The one might help but the other likely falls outside your VIN range.

As frequently recommended on the forums, use Locksmith's Graphite as a lubricant.
