The valley hoses definitely needed doing, it wouldn't be long before the top one as seen on this picture burst - no wall strength at all and about twice the size it should be.
Best picture I've found of these hoses, thanks. I can't find these anywhere (and boy have looked) because I don't know the actual name.

What are the part numbers and where can I purchase these "Valley Hoses" for non-supercharged 4.2L V8?

I got them from my local Jag dealer. Will see if I can find the receipt and look up the part numbers from it for you.

Vin A30645-> AJ86326 & NNE3946CA
Vin between A00083 & A30644: NCA3945CD & NNE3946CA

call Jagbits or SNG, both sponsors here and say you need the VALLEY HOSES, they will know what you mean.

The hoses pictured above are for a NA 4.0 XK/XJ.

The 4.2 liter engines have different hoses under the intake.
The S-Types 4.0 also has different hoses.

My 2004 VDP VIN ends with G10859, and was built in 2003, so it's a very early model of the "new" platform. I always have to be careful when ordering parts.

This is an old thread and the hoses were replaced successfully.
I changed the hoses on my 1999 XK8 and stumbled on a much easier/quicker replacement procedure. If you remove the 10 bolts to the intake manifold and lift up on the front of the manifold (throttle body still attached) it will lift/tilt up enough to remove and replace the hoses. I used a block of wood to hold the manifold up while replacing the hoses.

Hey galearmstrong....if you lift up the front of the intake, does that not put a lot of strain on the EGR tube?....or did you remove the EGR tube from elbow or exhaust manifold??

Picked up slowly while an assistant watched for clearances behind and around the throttle body. All was good…
