Default Internal head lining and A pillar finish.

Hi there I have just bought a new XKR and loving having it finally.

Wanted to ask a question as internal trim finish seems a bit odd but not sure.

The car had a new head lining fitted a year or so ago and its black. The carpets are black with a an ivory leather finish.

Is the black headlining a standard colour for the roof or has it been changed from the original as the overhead console and sun visors are a cream finish as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here you go. Read the whole document, color combos change if for example, your car has sports trim option.

Normally the headlining is Oatmeal on the Coupe but Nimbus Grey was also an OE option.

That's an impressive shine.

Thanks guys and was a quick wash after a drive from London to Glasgow.

Will be getting a proper clean this weekend if it stays dry.

Maybe this is the Alcantara upgrade folks sometimes talk about. No direct experience here. I am sure a picture would help others to identify the material.

I changed the front overhead bar and A pillars after I had the green shower in my convertible. Well worth doing. Have a read click me to read . Myself and another forum member, nicknamed Stagnite, both did ours at the same time. These should point you in the right direction.

Oof, pretty pretty car! Those wheels are super rare, too. Consider me jealous.

Thanks for the compliment. It's especially good when it comes from a fellow Jag owner. This is my little car.

It was in a bad way when I got it though and took a lot of work to get it up to 'Frank Standards'. Take a look, if you have a couple of days spare. Click Me To Read

Sulley,

What a beautiful Coupe! I know you are proud of it and like you I am concerned with the Black Carpets and Headliner! My 2005 XKR came with Beige Carpets and sort of a light Grey Headliner and Visors...After a few years in the Texas heat, one day the darn Headliner came lose and fell down around me....What a mess! This was about the time al the Porsches and M/B Coupes were getting Alcantara Headliners in their "Fancy" Cars.....Well I really did need a Headliner, so I had my Friend Joel put one in....even the Visors! (See Photos attached) The color matches the Jaguar Ivory and I think it adds a great deal to the Coupe! It's about 6 years old now and looks like new!

Picture to the rear.

Wouldnt mind the black so much os the overhead console etc. was the same.

Hi there and the interior looks great. After a bit of digging I found mine had been over lined with the black and not that great as been cut a bit short here and there.

Sulley16....

Sorry to say it but the first thing I would do is change all that Black back to Ivory.....Alcantara is expensive, but a good investment as it will last a long time and really looks good.....and the change of color will really make a lot of difference...so much Brighter!

Good Luck to you!
