Default Jaguar Sleeve - A/T Control Module

Regarding the Jaguar Sleeve for the A/T Control Module, has anyone replaced the “O” rings rather than purchase a new sleeve? I know they are prone to leaking so it’s always a good idea to replace while doing a transmission service,

The infamous sleeve is the leak-prone component, not the O-rings. The sleeve is what we all replace when we do that job. I do not remember a report here on the forum of one of the new-and-improved sleeves leaking once it has been properly installed so ZF must have gotten the sleeve re-design correct....

The reason I purchased a new sleeve is due to what I have read on the forum. It sounds like the sleeve cracks over time and starts leaking? XKs Unlimited told me they no longer are able to get the sleeve from Jagusr any longer. My Jaguar Dealer told me the same thing, but they sold me a Rover sleeve that has a crossover reference to the Jaguar sleeve. If ZF has redesigned the sleeve, I doubt the Rover sleeve I just purchased is one of them.

The reason to get a new part is that the sleeve is locked in place, and the pan/filter needs to be off to access the release. With the complications related to getting the fluid level right, having to undo the pan again to be able to redo the sleeve if it leaks is not a proposition of great appeal to most.Kind of like the rear main seal, you just change it if you are there, you don't just check it.

That sleeve seems to be available "everywhere", check eBay, etc. This is a ZF 6HP26 part, not really a Jaguar part.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

Thanks for the update. My ZF sleeve package says “Made in the Czech Republic”.
