Default Just a bit of fun

The wife hates it when I pause a good film in the middle of all the action because I have spotted a xk8/xkr somewhere in the background 😠eg entrapment ,bad santa, the hangover, the hole, there must be loads of films out there, any more you can think of would make my day 😊👍

I remember one episode of JAG (show about Navy lawyers in USA) where they disclose one of the newly engaged characters comes from a family with lots of $$$. During the family visit they got an emergency page and had to head to DC immediately, so the had to borrow a car.

the patriarch thinks about it, says "well Washington DC is 2 hours away, but you'll get there in 90 minutes in the Jag."

Tosses him the keys to an X100 and they were off. Of course the gorgeous Marine Major spent 5 minutes gushing about her first ride in a Jaguar.

couldn't help but think: cool, I own one too. . .

Ah yes, the episode where they made the "JAG in a Jag" joke.

I saw an episode of Two and a Half Men with an XK8 or maybe an R coupe - it was Charlie's car. The funny part was that there was a full grown adult in the back seat !

I think one episode of Sex in the City had a brief shot of Mr Big in an XK8. Carrie was at the remote cabin with Aiden and Mr Big drove out to intervene.

I think I had brought up in a post many moons ago the fact that in almost every case where you see a Jaguar in a movie or tv show, the person driving it is an absolute jerk and/or a**hole and usually the bad guy in the piece.

Not always jerks drove the Jags. Inspector Lindley drove an XJS in some of his episodes. Later in the Lovejoy series, his lovely girlfriend/auctioneer Charlotte drove one as well. In the series Love Hurts, Frank drove two Jags during much of the series, an XJ saloon and an XJS. And, of course, Morse drove a Mk II, albeit a lowly 2.4, with disc wheels and a regrettable vinyl roof.

Guess I should have been more specific--the XK8 and later XK models specifically are the jerk-mobiles. There is even a very short scene in Looper where the Bruce Willis/Joseph Gordon Levitt character is up to no good in an XK--you have to look quickly. The XK8/XK is the go-to vehicle to stress un-likability in a character
