Just hello
At the end of year 4 , of being owned by a beautiful Carnival Red, ‘97, convertible. I’ve put 20K miles on her, now at less than 75K total. A few idiosyncratic issues, but I handle them in the order of importance…ie; important: why is a/c causing gauge to drop a tiny bit(but not always), passenger side window had a streak of time when it lacked about 1” of totally shutting, oh and ANY upcoming regular maintenance that’s pricey. Like new tires. Less important, but annoying: dash squeak that seems to emanate from passenger side defrost vent panel, rear view mirror that has been held steady by little bits of old credit card(fear of breaking window or mount), squeaky trunk posts….Yeah “To The Garage” with John..
Meanwhile, I have endeared myself to my mechanics through a constant supply of fresh baked goods. They do not mind when I take them oem parts, and have gone so far as to do little jobs without charging me. The fact that I resemble everyone’s favorite grandma, probably does not make a difference.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who guide and support each other, with hardly any eye-rolling and forehead slaps. That you have been there, done that, and many who do your own work on these cars, I envy your abilities! Wish I were younger and fitter!
For now, regardless of trials and tribulations, I LOVE my cat, I LOVE driving! I couldn’t ever afford the ‘67 XKE, but this is damn good ! Hello highway!
Ice cold Pacifico, a Kentucky Bourbon, a fine glass of wine, maybe a Manhattan, Bloody Mary?
Any time.
