Today I had the surprise of my rear view dropping off its mount! Well this worked so well, I figured I'd share it.

Now I recognize that its obvious, but truth is it took me 10+ minutes to think of it, so it may save you time someday.

I took my Medicare insurance card and slipped it between the mount (male side) and mirror bracket. It, the card, seems to be a bit thinner than a credit card FYI.

This works so well, solid as a rock, I wish I could just keep it like this. But, hey let's face it - it looks so good I'll get tired of super models throwing themselves at the car ;-).

If you bend the spring tabs, be careful. The spring is brittle.
Bend a little at a time.

Some posted about an ACURA spring that is available as a separate part.
I bought one as a spare.
