2001 XKR: I've located a large refrig leak near the firewall in the rubber secction of the rigid + flexible low pressure hose MJA7310AH. I've heard this hose can be one piece as well... (different p/n?)
Does anyone have experience removing + replacing this part? It runs along the firewall then down along the motor - and it seems best case is the two-piece version that splits right below the motor case. In either scenario, just about everthing in the engine bay appears to be in the way of removing this - so HELP?
I don't believe any replacement part(s) are readily available new, but I have an Amazon hydraulic crimper I've successfully used to replace rubber sections connecting the original hard lines. Hell of a lot cheaper than the Jag part...
Any advice welcome -- thanks!

I did mine last year. I think I posted pix in a thread. I'll see if I can post them here again. As you already have the hydraulic crimper you're halfway home.
The one-piece pipe cannot be removed with the engine in the car. A brilliant design. The solution was to cut the long hard line near the back of the engine, remove both halves, and replace it with the supersession, which is a 2-piece affair.
I cut the ferrules off of both ends of the flexible portion, replaced the dried up hose and ferrules, and used the hydraulic crimper to recrimp the hose. Bingo, it worked.
Thanks a million, and yeah this is just great... Exactly as I expected. I do belive I have the 2 piece already, but need to check again. Perhaps @motorcarman posted your thread above? Not sure why I didn't find it but thanks all. If there's more info it would be great to see others, including photos etc. Feel free to DM those vs. post, but always good to build the archive...
Looks like NA XK8 yes? And did you not have the 2 piece? Or did you just leave the top half in place? Any idea how easy it is to remove the 2 piece?
If not you said throttle body and adapter have to come off -- I have the SC in the way too... The TSB has good steps it seems, but any advice on removing the thoracic organs in order to access and crimp the top pipe - especially XKR?

N/A 4.0. I did not have the 2-piece, and access to the compressor to remove/replace the line is a PITA so I decided not to retrofit mine with the 2-piece and, instead, to repair the hose in situ. The 2-piece is easier to remove because it's possible to remove it. The one-piece is not possible to remove while the engine is in the car.
I found it much easier to work with the throttle body out off the way. Of course, the elbow was also in the way, and it's impossible to remove with the intake manifold on the engine, so I just removed the entire intake.
