Default manual backrest adjustment ?

Is there any way to manually adjust the seat backrest by turning the motor by hand? The switch does not work...only clicks. If so, what is the best way to go about accessing it? Got a few days off and thought I may try to tackle this problem.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

If you have a backrest that does not respond, it is highly likely the seat controller module that is the problem This is the most common failure mode. You can verify this by swapping driver and passenger modules.

Search 'seat module'. There are several threads on this problem, which occurs when a printed circuit trace at the edge of the module breaks due to abrasion from the case and atmospheric exposure. It can be repaired with some basic soldering skill and a steady hand. Another member recently used a conductive ink pen from Radio Shack with good results.

Thanks, but I should have added I have already tried the swap. When I press the switch I can hear it and feel it try to move, but only one way however.

Just thought I could remove the seat and manually get the seat back to a more comfortable position.

Thanks

If it works in one direction try swapping the wires at the motor...

I applied power directly to the motor to move the seat around while I was working on my modules. Maybe 12v direct to the motor will get it moving. I downloaded wiring info from the FAQ section to identify which wire went where.

So what is the solution to the question asked...?

Remove the seat and 'manually' adjust the backrest...!

Has anyone tried to do this...?
