My 04 XKR oil cooler was damaged by being scraped and needs to be replaced. I recall seeing a video showing how the cooler could be mounted higher and this may help to avoid do this again. I can't find it. Does anyone know where I can find it?
on my '02 XKR, the cooling system is all in very good condition Nevertheless, occasionally the coolant temperature is higher than I am comfortable with.
I would be worried that moving oil cooler higher would adversely affect air flow over the radiator.
FWIW, take a look at your ride height, as this could be a sign of collapsed upper shock mounts or lower shock bushings. Cooler is likely where it needs to be. Go to jagrepair.com, find the vehicle spec book, and measure the distance between the top of the wheel arch and the center of the wheel. Low ride height also bring excess negative camber and associated inner edge tire wear.

Thx,
IIRC I have heard that the oil cooler can just be turned over and possibly mounted the other way around. Higher. I read these damn forums so much, that I might be thinking about the Porsche 928 cooler... Hmm, bit now that I think about it, on mine, the cooler is built into the rad. Take a look. I think the mounts (I think they are rubber shocked bolt design) might allow for some movement,,,, upwards..
Yeah... This dude in another thread talks a bit about mounting the cooler. You can see from his it is possible to have it above the bottom of the rad line... There is room for play in there, I'm pretty sure.
