Default Nardi steering wheel

Don't know if anyone here tried this before. Bought a Nardi steering wheel maybe three years ago but it went on the shelf because of other more urgent things to address.

Today I finally checked the eminent yt video of Modurol on how to remove the air bag and steering wheel, and it was a five minutes job. Looks beautiful I think

It looks absolutely beautiful and fits in just right with the burl wood dash!

But I'd never make that mod here in the U.S. While it may be different where you are, (I assume that) in the U.S. intentionally removing a primary safety device, like your main air bag, would void your personal injury insurance coverage if you are ever injured in an collision. I am thinking either being fully covered by your own insurance policy if you are at fault, being fully covered by the other drivers insurance when they hit you, or even being sued by a future buyer of your vehicle who is injured in a wreck and asserts in court that you sold them an unsafe vehicle. But, I am not an insurance expert and could be totally wrong on this.

Never thought I would like the look of an aftermarket steering wheel on an X100, but that looks gorgeous. It also looks a lot like the Zonda F steering wheel. About the only differences I see is the finish on the metal bit, where in the Zonda it looks like opaque aluminum, on yours it looks polished, and also the logo on the steering wheel is of course different.

After looking at the images I posted, I realized that in fact the Zonda F steering wheel IS a Nardi steering wheel and may very well be the same steering wheel as yours. Maybe that mod increased the value of your car by 50%?

Now I want one. If only I could get one that also retains the airbag.

Yes, Pagani Zonda uses a Nardi wheel and this is the same wheel

So that begs the question, does the Pagani Zonda have a Driver Airbag? it doesn't look like it. How did they get away with that?

That does look really nice, not sure if you can legally do that in the UK though. Maybe in the future when I no longer need an MOT for the car.

Within the EU small manufacturers that produce very few cars per year can get get an excemption from regulations and get away with skipping things like air bags.

And our cars are all 20 years or older by now, my xkr 2000 was manufactured in -99, the airbag is 26 years old. As O&DR Modurol says in his YT video where he shows how to remove air bag and steering wheel, air bags should be replaced every ten years. Will a 26 yr old air bag fire? Not sure about that

I've never heard of an airbag not going off due to age? That mod would definitely not be legal in the UK.

Wow, I really like that Nardi!
In Texas we've 'lost' the annual car inspection system to politics. I.E. we no longer have one except for emissions in large cities.
When I finally get the x100 back on the road this might be a modification for me.
