I purchased a 2000 xk8 with a navigation system but the DVD is not in the system. I would like to have a working nav system even if my Iphone system is better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to get a DVD without spending too much. The other option may be to replace the nav system with the three gauges that would be in that location without a nav system if that is possible. Has anyone done that?

 

If you can't find a suitable DVD for a reasonable price, I'm sure that you could replace the centre panel as the connectors for the "useless" dials will surely be behind there. The issue might be finding a centre panel from a scrapped car with matching veneer.

I installed a GARMIN 2597 LMT (update-able) with 'back-up' camera in one of my 2000 XKRs to replace the outdated NAV screen and the disc is useless to me. I might have a few more from when I worked at the dealer when people bought the $800 'newer-DVD' from the parts dept back a few decades ago. They gave me the old one to 'discard' but I saved a few.

PM me with a shipping address and I can 'hook-you-up-' with a NORTH AMERICAN DVD for your car. (I would still recommend a modern GPS unit in the veneer panel as replacement)

I have a shelf dedicated to CD and NAV units/parts so I'll look through my stack of CD magazines and NAV DVDs for a good one.
