Cracked tracks on the board are a regular issue with the Seat Modules. When you see the cost of a replacement, a little time spent with a soldering iron could start to look a very attractive alternative.

The phrase 'make it worse' suggests it hasn't completely given up the ghost?
This is what it looks like under the lid:
Depending on what is wrong / what functions have been lost, the usual thing is to check all the tracks for break(s) and flow solder across to bridge them.
I recall someone in the US offering a rebuild service but can't remember the details. Someone with a better memory than me may have the details.
