Default new upper mounts arrived 3/19 and installed 4/6

Thanks @cjd777 - upper mounts arrived earlier today - so plan is to install this weekend! Hopefully for the last time (this is 5th or 6th time in my 13 years of ownership)

Steve,

You unquestionably hold the world record in the category "Most Upper Shock Mounts Tried and Failed". I am betting Wayne's mounts will be the last you will ever need to do....

I agree, they are Top Notch. My Set are still centered and not relaxed, Height is still Spec. Wayne produces and delivers a QUALITY Part.

I followed @cjd777 and @baxtor in the development of this solution and have seen several positive posts, so I am eager to install and be done with this once and for all!!

good to hear - yeah I posted to an X100 facebook group and have received a few positive comments there as well - hopefully more will take advantage. And once I get these installed - will have another set of bad ones to send to Wayne for others

My old originals refurbished by Wayne sure look nice 👍

I'm next myself, because the URO rubbish replacements are falling apart after only one month on the car.

Once again - many thanks Wayne @cjd777 for the upper mounts - took 2 hours this afternoon and got the upper mounts and bump stops replaced! Also changed oil & filter while I was at it. Test drive was nice and quiet so hope tomorrow's journey into the industrial area I work at will be equally nice and quiet!!

Well done Steve....

My wife's 2006 XK8 runs those same Barum Bravuris 5HM all-season tires. Installed them in January 2022 and have had zero issues with them. Great bang-for-the-buck tire (Barum is owned by Continental and these tires are built in Europe)....

I went with the Barum's in 2023 on your recommendation. Quite pleased with the performance so far!

Wayne and Baxtor, if the two of you can make and sell around 45,000 shock mounts, you might possibly have supplied every XK8 and XKR that's still left in the world, assuming that around half of them have been destroyed or junked. And with that, I don't think anyone will ever have a problem with their shock mounts again.

Thank you too all of those that have tried baxtor and my mounts or the others that produce a similar produce, it was needed.
I wish I could say there were no issues but some things we can't solve with just a mount.
The washers in the metal casing are sometimes too small and the replacement bushings don't go down to the shelf of the shock stem, they really bang around when that happens, I check all the ones I get and ream if needed. Another problem, if your springs are weak, these will help for a short period of time only, also the bottom bushings can let the whole strut move around and will take it off center.
I do have my own theory about the spring position but that's another story up for debate.
That said, we are doing a heck of a lot better than we were on the amount of time between replacements.
Thanks

@cjd777 I will get these carcasses out to you within the next two weeks, so you can have a set to keep the production moving along - and really wish I hadn't pitched all the other sets.

I, and I bet several others of us, would love to know the process/price, etc. for having our mounts refurbished. Do we just PM you, Wayne @cjd777?
