I noticed chunks of black rubbery stuff lying on the floor under the car yesterday. Yep!!! The welsh mounts self destruct.
We all know that not driving a Jaguar is a bad thing. I guess that applies to those mounts as well.

Having just completed this job I feel your pain. Replacing the mounts isn’t a hard job but sourcing (good) parts seems to be the real challenge. Like many users considering this repair I read all the posts and updates pertaining to the mounts that were available for years. To be honest none of our forum members had much luck or longevity with any of the parts sourced from the usual suspects. Then Wayne figured it out!
By now most members have either used or at least heard about Wayne’s (CJD777) upper strut mounts that he fabricates himself. When I was finally ready to do my mounts it was a no brainer that I would be using his mounts. What I didn’t expect was Wayne’s extensive time, knowledge and research that he put into finding just the right methods and materials. I’ll add that another member, Baxtor, was also instrumental in finding the solution as he and Wayne worked for years solving not just this a common problem but an annoying one. Did I mention that Wayne is an awesome guy? Well he is and I’m glad I got to know him better dealing with him.
Wayne (cjd777) and Steve (baxtor) are both top-notch guys who will devote whatever time is necessary towards helping you replace your failing front upper shock mounts with their truly innovative solutions. We are all fortunate to have them as members of this forum and I cannot recommend them highly enough....

The welsh mount issue was not always like that. I had welsh mounts on my car for a number of years. I only removed them in order to test my own design and the welsh were still perfectly serviceable when l removed them.
l believe the poly formulation changed at some time and seems that is when they went to ****.
Not sure what rear work you were leading up to, but l now do both front and rear poly mount kits, so if Wayne can't help, drop me a line.
I too fell victim to the worthless Welsh upper mounts and had to replace them after just a few months. Literally crumbled to the floor. Really irritating to have to do that job twice. I posted a thread on both of my installs a few years back. Wayne is the man for sure and his mounts are still holding up perfectly two years later.
Wanted to update others out there the other problem this generated for me. I could not imagine it could be the new mounts and it took me a few days to find the issue. Then ordered parts and waiting etc I continued to drive the car. This was a mistake. Pirelli P-Zeros on the front wore down to the steel belts because the car lost camber. So in my case I had to add the cost of two new Pirellis to the project.
Your mounts may have been failed for a few weeks or months before you caught it. If so check your front tires for extreme wear on the inner edge.
