I replaced it with a new Sensor a Denso 234-9016. I chose the sensor from the Jaghelp list.

Any thoughts on trouble shooting?

• I inspected the connector and it looks okay.
• I don't think I could have installed the sensor wrong all you do is screw it in

 

Bank 2 sensor 1 is the left side of the engine (viewed from drivers seat) upper sensor.
Without knowing the model/year I can't advise if you have the correct sensor.
You might want to check the connectors for possible damage.

Thanks. If that is correct then Jaghelp is wrong. The guide on Jaghelp was written because there are so many issues getting the correct parts. Oh well.

 

RockAuto also lists the 2344720 as correct.

I look up parts on the website even if I am calling my local auto parts store.

 

Have you checked the relay and fuse?

It is not that one, I just got it and it is the wrong connector. I am not sure why but parts for the 1999 XK8 is often wrong. Arghhh

 

I just talked to the jag dealer and Jaghelp was correct. The jag part number is 1684bb wich corresponds to the part number from jag help. I will search other possible issues.

 

Just checked both fuses and the relay connected to O2 Sensor operations, all are fine.

Any other thoughts on what to blow the code for the O2 sensor?

 

I looking for a vacuum leak using propane and changed the o-ring on the dip stick. I could not find a vacuum leak and I do not think it was the dip stick, the o-ring was still in place, a bit brittle but it was still there.

Any other thoughts?

 

Have you re-checked the connectors on top of the transmission? Everything in position, snapped in and at the proper location (not swapped let-to-right)?

Other thing is to swap the relays in case this one sticks somehow. I believe there are a bunch of the same parts that can be swapped.

Other thing, as a last resort, is to have the ECU checked/rebuilt.

 

Are you talking about the O2 Sensor connector, if so I have checked that. I did swap the relay, no luck there. May have to take to to the shop if I can't figure anything else out.

 

Not positive it is necessary, but did you clear the code with the OBDII scanner? Is it coming back quickly?

Have you checked there is actual power to this heater circuit? Should be voltage at the connector, and the resistance towards the sensor should be fairly low.

 

2010 xf 5L v8. Would a" Bank 2, sensor A" be the same , upper front of driver's side? I have a new CPS sensor (from P0018 code), just not sure which one of the 2 on the front of engine. Hope it is not the rear one. Given a lot of plumbing to remove to get access, would you replace both at same time?
