Looks to me like it's saying the CAN is screwed.

But it is doing more now that it has since I got the car.

Some life is better than none!

The CAN by definitionis is quite ridgid and it only seems it cant find it's pals on the network.
Check the CAN wires, it should be about 60 ohm resistance. If it is infinite or zero you have a bad wire. If its 120 ohms one side of the bus is bad. I'm not sure which modules are at the end of the bus with the terminator resistors inside. But if they are not there it wont work. As all modules are lost this would be my first check.

See this thread from somewhere else.

Good luck!

I don't know on this jag but on the S-Type with CAN (so, 2003+) the terminators are in the PCM (aka ECM) and the ICM (dash aka cluster).

With one water-damaged PCM what is/are the other(s) like? Is the PCM connector good (clean, dry, lithium grease etc)?

You can take modules off the bus if need be so long as if you take one with a terminator off you add your own terminator (120 ohm resistor).

And what has been the final resolve to the communications problem?

I'm facing the same and before I spend a lot of time...and $$$, I'd like to know what others have experienced.

I had to change the ECM due to water damage... in order to get mine to communicate. I also just now got back from having the ECM immobilizer programed.

Thanks to Avenue Garage in Port Charlotte FL

Graham, your fuse block diagram shows 2 power sources for the OBD but all the other fuse block diagrams I've located, including my drivers manual, shows only 1. What car is this for? I'm chasing easy solutions at this point.

she lives!!!!
The motor runs.. have to tach it really high to get any motion out of it. I let it warm up and fluids circulate. It feels like there is no fluid in the transmission

I got lucky!!!!

Turned out to be the smog station's reader was the problem. Took my Jag to the local Jag mech that's always worked on her and his OBD2 reader could connect. Took the car to a smog station of his recommendation and it passed fine.

Happy day!

Or - and this is common - the OBD tool is only mostly working (and its software fails on a Jaguar).

But geteh has a Corvette. We don't get to troubleshoot many Corvettes here.
Maybe the Honda protocol is not the same and the scanner setup needs to be changed.

I've had 3 out of 5 perfectly good OBD2 scanners that could not communicate with my 2000 XK8. Of the two that did work, one was too dumb to provide the detailed info that I needed and the other was a bluetooth OBD2 dongle that transmits the data to a PC or tablet that runs various OBD2 diagnostic apps. Something is odd or non-standard about the OBD2 on this Jag.

So you might try another different model scanner.

Odd, yes. (But obeys the standards.)

And that's the fix.
