I recently purchased a 2006 XK8 and the Oil, Voltage and Water gauges are not working. When the car is off all three gauges are at 0. When the car is running they all at at 1/2. With the key in the on position it seems that the Voltage gauge is reading some voltage. Any ideas? The clock, tach, speedo, fuel gauges are all working.
Congratulation on the new ride. However, the gages are doing exactly what they were designed to do. I cannot address the voltage meter but Search for RealGauge on this forum or visit the Jag Wrangler at About XK8 / XKR / XJ RealGauge - TheJagWrangler for an explanation.
I was reading this thread just because it's interesting. One thing has me wondering though.
XK8forme mentions that this is a 2006 model. Didn't all the X100's move to a GPS screen in that position after 1999 or 2000 model year? That date is just a guess, but my question is: was the 3 gauge dash available in later years?

The GPS was standard on the XKRs and an option on the XK8s through all the model years from 2000. The triple-gauge could always be ordered though, even on the XKRs.
For those interested in some forum history, this long thread chronicles the development of RealGauge and has lots of info on the gauge issue: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-gauge-62813/
I have stockpiled parts for RealGauge, some of which are no longer in production, and will keep making the kit as long as there is demand.

Has anyone com up with a voltage meter system revision such that it provides accurate information while the engine is running?
I have contacted Real Gauge in this regard and they do not have such a product.
