p0301 to p0304, p1313, p1316, RP, please help.
Hi, after 3 weeks of ownership my 2k Jaguar xk8 with 65000 miles is giving me the
following codes: Code p0301, p0302, p0303, p0304, p1313, p1316 and
Restricted Perf.
P0301to P0304 is misfire I would like to know what do all
these codes means together. Now its obviously running very bad.
If you have had any of these problems I would really appreciate your help.
I have poured a bottle of techron in it and drove about 30 miles
but it's not better,
I have erased the codes but they came back right away.
Thanks AJ

Glad to hear your car was repaired, but I need an education after reviewing your parts list... maybe someone can enlighten me. My understanding is that you can only replace the secondary chains with the front cover removed, although the additional parts required for that portion of the repairs are not listed in the breakdown of the invoice. The only other method I am aware of is to use the aftermarket secondary chains with open master links, and it would be news to me if a Jaguar Dealership was employing that procedure. Mega or anyone else have any info to add on this subject?

if they turn the ingition on and had the mass air flow sensor unplugged it will set mafds codes, and retain if they didnt clear them. Maybe a dumb question, but did they clear codes last visit, or assume that since the light may not have been on that there werent any codes? Or did you mention timing chains, timing and or tensioner and they allowed you to diag the car and not them. sine the upper tensioner are a good paying job and well needed if plastic bodied? And Andy you do have to remove the cover to do the chains unless you employ a master linked chain

1-I just metionned to them that it misfired and that it was in RP.
They have read the codes.
2- On our way back from the Jaguar Dealership the Restricted performance came on again, so I assumed that they didn't cleared the codes after repair, so I erased them.
3- Today RP returned with P0302 and P0308 and P1316
4- I will be bringing the car back the the Jag Dealer for them to check it again. I am a bit confused now that you guys are telling me that there are discrepensies between the parts they've used and the parts they should have been using. So what am I going to tell the Service Advisor when I bring the car back??? (without upsetting him)
Thanks
AJ

Brute,
Nice to see you back. They couldn't change secondary chains any other way that I know of, I just figured I should ask before I started pointing fingers.
AJ, just ask them to take a test drive with you when you arrive so any problems are documented, and ask them to please fix it. I wouldn't say another word unless they call you up and start asking for more money. Then there is some 'splainin' to do.
