Default P0455 fault code cannister close valve check

I have a P0455 fault code, I get a check gas cap message and then the check eng. light comes on. I have replaced the gas cap and the valve in the left front wheel well. I have checked the cannisters and all the hoses. They all look good. Next step is to replace the canister close valve. Can I some how check the valve before I replace it. I think I will tear into the valve and try to clean it. It does look clean inside looking through the ends. Thanks

Here are some TSBs from the download area that nobody seems to be able to locate.

Thaks Bob, looks like my car fits the last pdf. My vin is 14193 2001 XK8. Looks like the hose is the problem and not the CCV. Looking inside of my CCV it looks good no rust. Should I clean out the CCV or replace it with a new hose. THanks

Small crack in hose under the clamp turned out to me my problem.

I tried everything last season to clear up the P0455 fault code and it turned out to be a small crack in the hose feeding the cannister purge valve. I took the hose to my NAPA dealer and he let me wander through the assorted hoses on racks to find a piece of something else that was about the right shape. Fixed.

Thanks I will check the hose again. After I clear the fault code p0455 the check engine light stays off for a couple of days then reappears.

I have a 2001 and had this problem for almost 3 year ongoing. I replaced almost everything and it was sometimes Ok for some weeks. But fault returned all the times.

Finally it were the o-rings on the canister. Even though I replaced them for huge money by original green jaguar o-rings (this Ford Item costs 5 times less at Ford) they did not fit well.
I Put some air pressure into the fuel tank and we found out that the new/expensive/green O-rings does not seal well. After replacing through ordinary ones my problem is solved - at least since 3 months

Checked all hoses and connections today. Everything looked good. Pried open the crankcase close valve and it was clean, no rust. One thing I noticed I have no power to the crankcase close valve with the engine running or not running, just the key on.
Not sure how this whole system works. Does anyone have a wiring diagram? I assume the system removes vapors from the fuel tank and routes the fumes up to the engine. I wonder what sets off the check gas cap message? Thanks

The only SURE way to power the CCV CLOSED is to use PDU, WDS, IDS etc. (or external 12 volt supply)
There is an application in the 'vehicle config' tab that holds the CCV closed for up to 30 minutes for diagnosis (smoke test).

The CCV is only closed when the ECM wants to test the EVAP system.

Found seized up crankcase close valve. LJC 1525 AC is the replacement part number. I will let you know if it takes care of my problem.

'No rust seen' did not help with the diagnosis. Sometimes the part just fails. The valve is in a corrosive atmosphere.
The part is actually called CANISTER close valve. It closes off the carbon canisters from the fuel tank vent.

good luck with the repair. hope that was the issue.

Thank you! I will try the dealer again. I was just there and the parts department could locate it in their diagrams. Did you replace the hose that connects the cannisters? Do you have that # as well?

Non only the rings - several times!!!
But as I wrote before - go to a Ford Dealer, they use exactly the same o-rings for a 4th. of the Jag-price.

To confirm, buy the o rings at a Ford dealer. Is KSG 113624 the same part number at Ford as it is at Jaguar?
Did you replace the cannister hose as well? If so, do you have that part number.
Being in the U.S., I'm not sure if Ford will have the O rings but I'll try.
I replaced the gas cap and the check engine light did go off...for now. I have purchased the purge valve LJG1515BB and Cannister Valve LJC1525AC. Need the hose and O rings per my Jag mechanic.
