PCM rebuild/repair
I have a 2005 jaguar XK8, I replaced the pipe and the water pump, after that it would not start. I am receiving a code saying that it’s the TCM. I’m looking to get mine rebuilt. Anyone knows a reputable place.
these are the error codes that came up for my 2005 XK84.2
The problem started it overheated. I shut it off pretty quickly noticed that the cross pipe was leaking. I replaced the cross pipe and the water pump. I’d actually started it after it overheated just to move. It started fine after I replaced the water pump and cross pipe crank no startand these are the codes I’m getting

If it was me, I'd delete all the codes, ensure the battery is fully charged and start again! There are too many codes there that look to be ancient history, irrelevant and a distraction. You need an up-to-date list of current codes that truly reflect your problem.
thank you very much I believe that’s 100% correct I’m charging the battery now I had it tested a month or so ago it’s good it’s actually relatively new. I hope that’s the problem. Also somebody told me to turn the key to on position for a few minutes before I start it.
A TCM replacement is an involved process.
The 'mech-a-tronics' is actually part on the valve body.
Then a configuration to go through or at least CLEAR ADAPTATIONS/RECONFIGURE?
Hope it gets fixed without module repair/replace.
VID block cars are complicated.

VID block cars are complicated.
VID = I bought the superior 4.2 version of the car because I read on Facebook it was better.
Those of us with the basket case 4.0 engine don't have to worry about complications like VID blocks as the numbers are witten on a sticker in the boot (VCATS), rather than needing to be programmed into replacement modules themselves or they don't work. That's progress I suppose.

Really appreciate the feedback
Bore wash is unusual on a 4.2, but possible. When you start a cold engine the fuel mixture is rich, like having a choke. If you then shut it off before the mixture leans out the excess fuel could wash the oil from the cylinders resulting in low compression. This used to happen with 4.0 engines with nikasil cylinder lining.
To restart the procedure was to depress the gas pedal to the floor, which shuts off the injectors, then turn the engine over for a few bursts of 10- 20 seconds to oil the cylinders, then ease up on the pedal and it should start.
But a weak battery is more likely the cause. You should see 12.5V or more with the ignition off.

Ill try it again tomorrow
Its getting frustrating because it was running fine when i shut it off
i have tried a hard reset but it still shows old codes
If it is borewash, 20 seconds is not long enough. I've had to turn it over for a couple of minutes (not continuously, of course) to get it to start.
