Good evening, I'm Paolo and I'm writing from Italy. I own a 1997 XK8 convertible. My control unit has a PECUS E error. The mechanic tells me that it needs to be reprogrammed. Do you have any suggestions to solve the problem? Greetings to all. I'm attaching a photo of my car. Thanks

As for your issue, the mechanic is correct and a search of the forum will yield a great deal of info including the attached PDF regarding the various PECUS errors

 

Was the car working ok before this message appeared, or did you buy the car with this fault?

I think I would open up the ECM and check the state of the capacitors as they are known to start failing on the early cars, before doing anything else.
