Default Photos Schrader valve on fuel rail location

Friends, we've mentioned this many times, don't think I've seen photos of the location before. I was helping someone out today, figured I'd post this here for future reference for all to use. John

***edit: the gold valve was covered with a blue plastic cap. Removed for photo.

General location for orientation.

See gold valve.

You car is AJ26.
The fuel pressure port is different on the AJ27.

John, don't know why they moved it, but on the rear of the rail on the right side. Mine had a green cap on it.

And it is not always present on the 4.2L.

Maybe it is a function of the early build engines that is is missing but I can say it is irritating not to have it when you are diagnosing a fuel problem.

The 4.2 has a 'returnless-system' so you can monitor the pressure with a diagnostic device from the ECM.

Unless the sensor is in question and you want to check it against “reality” or if you’re trying some shenanigans to change the differential pressure to increase fueling because some yahoo put a twin screw on your car.

It certainly is a great tool in a no start situation. '
Had a problem back in January and after checking the usual suspects, pushed the valve and got a dribble of fuel after several attempts to get a reaction from the motor. Changed relays and checked fuses and quickly decided to go in the trunk and hear for any humming. None, so fuel filter was the last thing I could rule out.
Replacement if not a lot of fun, but found a much better way to get the lines off and replace, so in the end will help others. Saved going the gauntlet of electrical connection hunting by a simple push of a button, so to speak.

I just pulled the 'rail off my 4.2 while checking fuel injectors. There was no valve present. (2006 XK8). I WISH there had been! I got a bath.

This is Jaguar's explanation for the omission of the schrader valve in the X Type for MY2004. You can guess that the same reasoning accounts for the X100's loss!

Fuel Tank and Lines (AWD variants) Introduction
The vehicle has a new fuel system designed to meet USA Federal LEV 2 emissions requirements.
Parts affected are:
• Under floor fuel lines.
• Fuel tank assembly.
• Fuel filler pipe.
• Carbon canister.
• Fuel filler cap.
Service Port
In order to further reduce emissions, the fuel rail ’schraeder’
valve is deleted. Should a service port be needed, a new
service special tool will be available to fit between the fuel
rail and the fuel feed line connection.

Can anyone point me to online shop where I can get the gauge or adapter that fits AJ26? I’m struggling to find the right size, all the gauges I’ve seen have a much bigger dimeter.

You can use a TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE in a pinch.
You might ruin the gauge, they are designed for gas/air NOT GASOLINE/FUEL.

The threaded connector is the same as a tire valve stem.

My fuel rail schrader valve is on the right side near the back. And I'm glad it's there.
When the Earth's environment is threatened by emissions from my fuel rail schrader valve, I'm getting off this ride and looking for a new planet.
