Default Queen's English Car Show 2015

Huge turnout at today's Queen's English Car Show in Los Angeles.
At least 50 Jaguars in attendance, old and new. Doug and his beautiful X100, Ralph and his gorgeous X150, George (Tirefriar) driving my X150 coupe and me driving my X100 convertible, all got together, talked, walked, and saw hundreds of extraordinary examples of British cars including Jaguars, Austin Healeys, Triumphs, Lotus, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins, Singers, Cortinas........Great time had by all.

The weather was certainly better than the last two years--a great day for an event like this. The main differences from last year were that there was a surprisingly large amount of gorgeous E-types and also several more X100 this time around. There was one F-type that showed up and the guy kept walking around asking about local tuners who could up his horsepower from 500 hp up to 550 hp--guess there is never enough horsepower!

Here are a few photos. One is Ted with his one of each generation, a couple of blue cuties, a pristine XK140 (I think it was a 140), a gorgeous E-type, and a Morgan Aero which I had not heard of before.

Hey Doug,
I am going to try and be there. I had some commitments but will try and change them. I know Ralph will be out of town, but I'm sure I'll see you there.

We made it to the show today! It was our first British car show and it was a beautiful day with lots of beautiful cars. Pics to come.

The forum members need to have a window decal or T-Shirt. Would have been fun to find other forum members there.

Sorry I missed you, my father-in-law and I got there about 8am and left around noon as we had another commitment. I did see Doug (Seismicguy) and met some new people who I hadn't seen in previous years including a woman who brought her 2006 black XKR instead of her 2015 IRR F-type V-8.

Some pics. By the way, no F-types in attendance except for a Firesand Coupe in the parking lot. Several X100s, a couple of X150s, about 20 XKEs, and some other vintage, beautiful Jags as well as hundreds of other cars from every British marque. Just a lovely day in paradise.

There were definitely many more or our vintage XK than in previous years. I was able to give "advice" to a few folks who stopped by to say they were looking into buying an XK8 or S-type, etc. and what do they need to look for and are there any decent mechanics in the Valley, etc.

Also met the newest member of our gang--KingCobra and educated him a bit about the green monster since he has a nice British Racing Green convertible. Of course my day started out with "top drama" when I pushed the button to put the top down before going to the meetup. Things seemed to work as usual but the top just went up a crack and stopped. I pushed the button again this time pushing up with my hand a bit to help the top clear the latch and then everything went perfect. I am sure my lack of use of the top was the problem and the latch and header surfaces probably seized up a bit. Another reason for me to try and lower the top more frequently.

Hey Cyber--I think I saw you roll in late and I think you were the only coupe in our group. Sorry I did not have a chance to say hello.

I think I saw you pulling in as I was leaving with my father-in-law as we had another commitment and had gotten to the show at 8am. (I was in my silver 2010XKR coupe, not my 2002 XKR convertible). It's a nice show and you meet a lot of very nice people. Did Leno show up later?
