Default Query Fuse 19/ Model Type

Good Morning,

Total Jag newbie.

Will be picking up a 2006 XKR-S 4.2 with "sports quad exit exhaust". at end of week.

"One of the last to be built" so it's not the last XKR series/model.

During test drive I thought the exhaust was very quiet and was going to try removing the fuse (behind rear seat) however after reading about I'm not sure my model has a fuse (19) to remove?

If not I shall start sorting out an aftermarket.

So query is really simple - has mine a fuse 19 to remove (the 2006 year class puts it on the edge of both models!).

Welcome to the forum Mark99,

The last steel bodied XK8/XKR came off the Browns Lane production line on Friday 27th May 2005. An XKR 4.2S Coupe which was given to the JDHT collection. Unusual but not unknown to have one of the last produced registered in the UK in 2006 when the new aluminium XK was already in the showrooms.

The 'fuse 19' applies to the later XK model. The only thing you'll find behind the back seat on the earlier model is a telephone module.

Mark, your colour is Zircon Blue and one that is favoured by many, look after it as it's a great looking car.

As it's a 4.2S, it's probably Frost Blue, a colour introduced specially for that model, but continued for some other models afterwards. (Well, mine is anyway!)

You'll tell for sure when you get your hands on it. The colour code is on the passenger door label:

Frost Blue is JJZ.

Cheers chaps. I pick it up Friday.

The sales blurb said "Pacific Blue Pearl" but I could not find a Jag ref to that shade.

I'll post back when I get the code.
