Quick Starter Removal Question
How do you reach the top bolt on the starter to remove it? I have the bottom bolt loosened, but can't figure out how to reach the top bolt.
If someone has replaced their starter, please let me know. I just can't figure out how to reach the dang thing!
Thanks!

Pulled this from JTIS
Remove the starter motor securing bolts.Remove the upper securing bolt. Preferably, use a short 13 mm spanner or a Snap On Half Moon spanner CMX1113 to initially loosen the bolt. (Refer to the next step).Remove the lower securing bolt.Carefully remove the starter motor.
The upper bolt may be removed (after loosening) using a 3/8' square drive 13 mm socket, extensions and U.J.

I replaced my starter about two months ago. The absolute need is a half moon 13mm wrench to loose the damn thing and then approximately similar tool (U joint socket set) as described in JTIS to get it out. Below is the picture of the wrench. I bought mine from amazon for >$20 with prime.
Here's the to the listing with prime - it shows S style wrench, but it's half moon actually as evident from reviews and from my personal experience. The ratcheting mechanism is no doubt a time saver!
On the subject of finally removing it (if it does not spin under your fingers) I found the most suitable approach after removing the plastic oil filter cover along with the plastic air tube that cools alternator. I was able to line up the socket extensions comfortably from there and maneuver the bolt. It's quite cumbersome at times until you fit it and then it'll become much easier to replicate. Also, there's ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to be dropping steering rack as per JTIS .
If you could wait 3-4 days I could lend you my wrench. Just PM me with your address (considering you're stateside).
Be patient and you'll finish it before you know it!
Danny.
PS: As for the sockets set I used one 8" 3/8 inch extension, one +/- 6 1/4 inch flexible extension, 1/4 to 3/8 universal joint adapter and alternatives as needed. NOTE, it's important for your own convenience to use the 1/4 extension on the starter side, because there's already so little room to have...
