Default Rear lamp warning, but all are working

I'm getting a rear lamp warning but all lights are working. Anybody experience this? Thanks

yes check for corroded connections (bulb to socket). I have seen that do this.

+1 on the brake light switch. Mine failed this year, but for a while I had rear lights even though I was getting the check rear lights message. Eventually they stopped working.

As others have stated above on Brake Light Switch.

Have the switch replaced or, do it your self. Problem will be solved.

ahh, this feeds into that thread here about modern cars or what ever. Over cooked system to tell you a light it out that you have to chase down multi possibilities to wehat the cause it. NOT NEEDED. Bulb goes out, you see so evenutally and you place it, not all this computer boards and the like. ha ha ha

This just started happening to mine, confirming what I suspected, the brake switch. Will replace it and see if it clears up the warning as well as letting me use the cruise again. My commute is typically 45 minutes in moderate traffic, and the adaptive cruise is a godsend (along with the killer stereo system). Thanks for posting this and links to the other threads!

Wait a minute, $173.95 for a freaking little switch? Does anyone else have a better source? Is it the adaptive cruise that makes this so expensive?

Sad but increasingly true. The lunatics have taken over the asylum. Perhaps we need a sensor to alert of a faulty sensing circuit - not.

theweeb, if you can wield a soldering iron (or know someone who can) , the microswitches are standard and available separately for around $3 each. Someone posted a part # on the forum. The bracket can be a bear to R & R, but there are some useful tips on here.

Unfortunately the price of many spares reflects what the market will bear rather than true worth. That's business..

Check Advance Auto, under cruise control switch.

Also, there was a member of this forum that fixed them for a while. You could order a repaired switch under the promise of sending your old one back to him, so there was no down time for you.
