Rear light cluster 1997 XK8
Recently the turn signal indicator has been pulsing at double speed when I turn left and apply the brake at the same time. My local Jaguar 'specialist' put it down to having a US made bulb in the cluster instead of one made in Britain. It sounded strange but after all it is a British car and being a Brit myself I know how we Brits can be.
Well he changed the bulb and put some special grease on the connectors and all was fine for about 3 week. Now I'm getting the same double speed pulsing on the display when the turn signals are actually flashing at the correct speed. However now the brake light (rear light) is intermittently flashing too.
Any ideas before I spend another $200.00 at my local Jag specialist?
BTW - Thank you for all the posts and responses. Many of the small issues I've come across since getting XK8 are definitely not unique to me and this forum has saved me a lot of frustration as well as cold hard cash!

Hey Sheridan, I've seen similar issues on other vehicles wherby one of the bulbs is actually gone which triggers the double flash rate... I assume you've checked that?
In the meantime I'm moving this to general tech help where it should#ve been posted....You're far more likely to get help there than in the forum help section.
I'm sure Thermo or one of the techs will be able to give you the definitive answer soon
Good luck

Mine did this on my 99 xk8 coupe forever. But after several bulbs the dealer said that they have had problems with grounding. They installed a secondary ground on both tailight assemblies. All it amounted to was adding a 16 ga wire with a closed loop on both ends. The wire is about 8" long and one end is on the metal of the tail light assembly the other end was attached to screw stud near the assembly. I have been troulbe free for about 5+ years.
