Can use the key fob to lock/unlock doors as always but the chirps are gone. Lights flash as they should. Has this happened to anyone else?

Probably the intelligent sounder. Link shows 2 vids on how to remove and repair/replace.

Opened this thread with intent to say that I'm pretty sure that the chirp is a configurable option via the dealer SDD, but if it used to work and suddenly stopped, then agree with HD, the sounder is the best place to start.

I'm always cautious about options in different World markets but I think the chirp is universal whereas the audible alarm is configurable as some countries don't allow them.

To be honest, I would need to connect to the car again and check. It's been a few years back that I went through all of the options to see what was configurable.

But now you've got me curious...

 

HI,Yes, it’s in the dealer options menu in the IDS system, I set this up on my XK8 as a convenience feature one bleep for lock, and two bleeps for unlock works fine for me
as well as the lights flash as well not sure if its for the USA market or Rest of world.

 

My car was configured for chirps and flashes like you describe since I have had it.

No reason to be believe that anyone previous had modified the options to be different than standard US spec.
