Last week my remote fob just stopped working. No problem thought I as I'd done the reprogramme procedure before when I bought my spare one. Tried my spare and no joy, so I reprogrammed both fobs. Great, works for a week and then again last night stopped working. I've tried several times today and can't get the fob reprogrammed.
I've put a new battery in the fob, still no joy.

Basically I put the key in the ignition, pull the indicator stalk, turn key to position 1, flash 4-5 times and get the chirp. Press buttons on remote fob and nothing. Tried both fobs and am now stuck. I've looked at the security module antenna by the fusebox in the boot and looks secure.
Any ideas to test/check?

 

I have the same problem, took it to an Indie and he was unable to programme the fobs. He also tried one of his own and still no joy. Says it may be the module, but apparantly Jaguar do not make them any more. Second hand ones are now mega rare! Sorry to be of no help, hoping others may have some answers

 

Thanks Jagmg39, luckily I spoke to my indie, Trevor and he's got plenty of modules in so will organise a trip down to see him this week to sort it out.

My mechanic installed a module for a coupe and it seems to have done the trick.
I've got both remote fobs working and have been for over a week. Just need for him to find a module for a convertible as I can't put my roof down at the moment to enjoy the Indian summer we're having in the UK.

 

Let me know when you get the other module, as mine is a coupe we could maybe come to some arrangement with your mechanic

Hi all,

I thought I'd update the thread as I've just returned from having the SLM Module replaces with the convertible one. All up and running a treat. I can thoroughly recommend Trevor at Jagspares down in Penge.

Now just waiting for some sunny weather.
