Default Replace cluster speedometer LJD4300MB - HELP

Guys,
I need some help.....my original cluster on VIN: SAJBA42B8YPA05997 XK8 XKR 2000 Convertible is the model LJD4300MB and needs to be replaced.

I called local dealer and their system said these parts my work but will need a diagnostic tool to probe cluster.....but original cluster is dead!!!!

Here are the part numbers provided by deal:
LJD4300GB or
LJD4300HB or
LJD4300JB

If you have any knowledge or experience on getting the correct cluster, please let me know.

Thanks
Sergio

Hold on for a moderator to move your post to the correct forum.

BTW you can probably get the cluster repaired and avoid security (immo) issues.

Default CLuster Help

Hi team,

Getting no support from local dealer.

Will this work a cluster from a 2001 Jag XKR to a 2000 Jag XKR?

Thanks
Sergio

Car likely to go into anti-theft and be immobilised.

Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS, Check the VCATS.

My 2000MY XKR boot label info.
IPK LJD4300KB / 104 (supercharged XKR)

Part number might have a different two letter suffix but the /xxx needs to match if that is what your car has.

The 4.0 liter X100/X308 cars do not need config for IPK replacement but the mileage will not be correct.

The 4.2 liter X100 has a VID block and is a WHOLE DIFFERENT car!

Welcome to the forums Sergio,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. Thids is the place to post technical questions about your model.

swap them around and ignore the vcats number, they are never provided by ebay sellers anyways.

anything from a 4.0 XKR will be plug and play just don’t use the cluster from a 98 or 99 XJR. obviously don’t try an mph cluster either

Hi,
Have you considered having your existing IC repaired? It's the best route if it can be done at a reasonable cost as you won't have any compatibility or kilometrage issues.

JEPC does show the same # fitted to the X308 within a specific VIN range:

I can't make out the full part # on the 'Visteon' unit you have shown, but it could be LJE4300FB for a later VIN range on both the XJ and XK. Would it work? - possibly.

A quick Google of your part # doesn't return any results other than from Jaguar Heritage, so there aren't many about - but then they weren't fitted to very many cars

The part fitted to your car does not have a supersession number, so I would look further for a unit that matches yours (and your VCATS).

@xalty - what's the issue with a mph unit? I'm wondering if a Mph with Kph subscale might be easier to source if the OP draws a blank (if Canada permits this).
