Replaced front springs

it looks as though the car has been lowered to the floor but has not yet been moved. If so the car will settle once you move it a metre or two.

Ditto NorXKR, I replaced mine a few weeks ago and it was very high. I did not know to torque it when the wheels are on the ground. Regardless, after a few weeks it has settled in some and looks pretty good. I also redid my rear shocks and bushings which helped raise the rear a tad and now the two are very close to matching. The front is just a smidge higher than I would like, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch but I am going to live with it. It is such a pain to remove the upper fulcrum bolt that I have absolutely no desire to go back and remove the spring packers which would most likely fix it. And hey, I am sure I will get a chance to do this job all over again in 3 or 4 years when the upper shock mounts go bad and at that point I will reassess and install without packers if the front doesn't settle that extra bit.

I may get corrected here as I had no idea what that meant a few days ago. My research has me thinking it means torqueing the upper control arm fulcrum bolt when the vehicle is no longer on jack stands and the wheels are on the ground. I think you can accomplish this by keeping the car on jack stands, keeping the wheels off then jacking up the lower control arm to the point where it would normally sit with the wheels on and no jacks. I am guessing the reason for this is that it would seat the bushings at a point in the suspension geometry that is more commonly experienced by the suspension components.

The same might be true for the uppers but I've never worried as much about them...
If not, the bushing are set/locked in a position where the lower control arms are extended ALL THE WAY down (hanging wheels off the ground) and when you put the car on the floor sometimes the bushings will tear inside of the bush casing when the control arms return to there riding height. I hope that makes some sense....?

I actually ordered the OEM springs from OEMdiscountcarparts.com which I believe is a front for the Jaguar dealership parts department. Part number JLM20706. They were pretty reasonable at $282 for the pair. Here is the link:
https://www.oemdiscountcarparts.com/...pring-jlm20706
I believe another good option is the DCR website. They are based in the UK so I think shipping might take longer but the owner Dave is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have an array of quality aftermarket springs that are original spec and also lowered if you would like that. I think if I had to do it all over again I would opt for a 1/2" lowered set. Here is the link:

Edit: I completely forgot that the springs I bought are for the 2003-06 XKR with adaptive and "R" package so disregard the part number. Either way, DCR will likely have many options for your car.

There are several different springs for the XK8/XKR with different weight ratings and height.
This is the correct front springs for the 2000 XKR convertible with CATS

John - thanks for the info
Per Jaguar, stock ride height (front wheel) is 15.78 from center of wheel to underside arch of fender. My car measures 14.125
Replacing the upper shock mount would def help but mine's more than 1.5" too low. Ride (and handling) are terrible.
If it's not a keeper, would just upper mount/shocks make the car at least drivable? For a keeper, aren't springs a must replace when the car's this bad?
Slightly lower front springs would be a nice improvement visually and for performance (and more manufacturer options) but then I have to do the rear springs/shock. Many other repairs
to fix before I start doing any suspension mods.

FYI I have 15.25 after replacing just the shocks and mounts. So could use a 0.5" lift, I suppose, but still happy with the results. Don't remember what it was pre-work but it was visually lower, visually angled downward in the front. On the plus side it was always going down hill .
