Side marker bulb replacement procedure - how?

Just my $0.02.
I agree with those that feel/see the tabs from the inside. If someone were to tackle mine from the outside, the assembly would most likely break since I have bent my tabs for a more secure installation.
I also like the clear markers, and may buy a set when gas prices drop

These might help. You can also push the entire assembly out from the inside - my tech did this when the car was on the lift for a different repair. You'll likely find that water ingress into the socket area has caused it to rot. Replacements are available - since this is a common problem there are several threads on the topic.
The Photos of the Side-Markers in your Post are not XK* or XKR Side Markers, I don't know where you got them but they did not come on either of those Cars....
