Default Sirius Antenna location

I am installing a Sirius radio in my '99 XK8 convert today. Any input as the best place to place the antenna? I know what Sirius says but want real input.
Thanks!
LaRue

I placed mine on the passenger side - just underneath the piece that covers the rear speaker panel - will see if I can find the pics or other thread that showed it. have not had any issues with it placed there.

adding link to other thread - see post 5 for pics of antenna location:

I put mine next to the GPS antenna on the steel self under the carpet where the convertible stays when down. Remove rear seats, run your cable under armrest. If you XMtogo your done.Works great. I leaned this from our forum.

I had my Sirius antenna on the rear deck behind the third light and it worked great. After reading this post I repositioned it to the shelf next to the GPS antenna to be more discrete. However, I did notice some degradation to the receptions and when the top is down even more skipping. I am wondering if there is a better antenna out there or which one is everyone using? I am attaching the one I am using.

Hello, my installer (top-notch) placed the antenna on the outside on the drivers side windshield. Says "the best reception comes when antenna on the outside of car and on glass rather than metal".

Happy Motoring and listening...

I have found a new place for the Sat Antenna that gets good reception and is out of sight. It is in the third brake light. You must remove the outer housing from the antenna with 4 Torx screws on the underside to make it fit. To snake the wire with the light wire, you must cut off the connector. You can re-splice the coax cable later. Apply a little silicone or dish soap to push it through the wire loom at the hinge to enter the trunk space.
