SLCM problems XK8
Hello chaps. Trust you are well.
I’m having some problems with my XK8, regarding the locking of the car. For some reason I can’t lock the car via the key fobs.
None of the buttons are operable on both key fobs. No boot release, no locking nor the lights are operating.
For information purpose, batteries replaced on both key fobs, and my cars battery is in excellent condition. Somehow I tried to activate the security learning mode , but I can’t. It seems that the SLCM is in some sleep mode.
I disconnected the battery, but again no luck. Somehow, I can lock the car via the key. Unlocking though via the key again, if I don’t put the key on the ignition switch immediately and turn it to position one at least, after few seconds the alarm goes on.
Any ideas on what to look for ? Is this possibly a false SLCM module ? Can I reprogram the current one or I’m facing a replacement here ? At some point my OBD showed the 1261 code. Security Input.

It is not unusual to lose key fob operation after a battery change. Follow the link below and try reprogramming your key fobs.
Make not of the requirement to push a function button while programming and to make sure if you have 2 fobs to push function 4 times on last fob. The programming is set up for 5 fobs and needs to think you have 5 fobs. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...amming-228227/
