Sourcing out 2 VVT units
Good day from Vancouver, BC!
I'm trying to source out two VVT units for a 1997 XK8 Roadster. Unfortunately Jaguar Canada doesn't carry it anymore (!?) and Jaguar UK says "unavailable". I thought to reach out to the X100 community and see if anyone knows where I can find these parts. From what I understand this is also the part number for the XJ8. The part# is NCA2016AD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

Thank you Steve for the info re: Jagbits and Coventry West.
Looking into it, they are asking $995 USD per VVT. Somehow I find this extremely high. Someone told me I can have the ones I have rebuilt...for $600 USD for the pair. Does anyone have any experience with getting VVTs rebuilt?
Thanking you in advance for any thoughts.
KInd regards,

KInd regards,
I’d be tempted to buy some used camshafts from low mileage engine and transfer the VVT units for that pricing!

i have no association with that but I’d be tempted to reach out and give that a go if the new parts price gives you the stomach ache it gives me. Not sure if it fits your application so obviously some research is needed but that seems a lot cheaper and worth the try.

Any Normally Aspirated AJ26 4.0 engine VVT units will work. There must be hundreds of 1997/98 XK and 1998 XJ engines in salvage yards?
Be sure to replace the 'split-seals' for the oil feed to the VVT actuators when checking or replacing.
