Squeaky brakes - cheaper Options for 04 XKR ...Thanks
#41
To each his/her own! I will not turn rotors, only new premium discs and use only ceramic pads. I will only replace brakes in full sets of all 4 wheels. Maybe I am too **** retentive, but when it comes to brakes, I will not just get by for replacements. Brakes are the most important system on a car and safety is the most important to me. It feels good to go fast, but feels even better to be able to stop!
There are only two things my cars need to do. They need to go and they need to stop. Replacing brakes on the cheap is not an option for me. High performance cars require high performance brakes. Anything less is a sin.
This is an old post, but brakes are always an important issue.

2 ways to go. Find a supplier for a kit, and buy all the required parts. Keep in mind some of the parts are no longer available. Welsh ent. has such a kit at a competitive price (front only), but not entirely cheap.
Other option is to somehow source the parts you need. Old stock, used parts, etc. You will need calipers and all the hardware, pads, new lines (GoodRidge), 4 bolts and 2 rotors. The work involved bolting it all up, plus tapping the uprights for these new bolts, and cutting up the edge of the dust shields to accommodate the larger rotors.
PS: Keep in mind that most calipers found on eBay do not fit the X100. They are typically from the S-Type R and definitely do not fit. This is unfortunate because they are fairly cheap and available.
