Had this code 3 times in the last year. Last two times it occurred when I left something small like a sheet of paper on
the passengers seat. A blink code 23 shows passenger seat SRS wiring fault.
First two times I disconnected the battery, waited an hour then unbolted and tilted back the passenger seat. Unplugged and cleaned several connector, reseated everything securely and the light goes away.
This last time I wanted to try and narrow this down to which connector exactly was causing the issue. I got lucky and this last time the first coupler I pulled apart and cleaned and reseated is the one that turned the light off. It is the smaller yellow one in this picture:
I also noticed another thing. This plug hangs down lower than any of the others. It drags along the carpet as the seat moves back and forth. I wondered if this might slowly pull the two halves apart enough that they might lose contact at some point. In any case I zip tied it up off the floor to eliminate that posssibility.
If the code 23 recurs I may replace the coupler. The light has been out for over a month even with my wife using the passenger seat regularly. Not sure what would happen if I put a couple of sheets of paper. on the seat because I don’t want to mess with it for awhile.
