Does he have a shop in Decatur? We are from Ft Worth and are over there often. Our daughters are in Springtown and Ft Worth.

 

I have several customers that come out from Fort Worth for more expensive repairs as they are willing to drive 40 miles to save some money on the older cars. Most of them are repeat customers from the 1980s to the 2000s from shops I worked at when I worked in Fort Worth. There are still a few of us that work on 'E' Types and old XJ6 series I, II, and III as well as the newer cars.

XKR Brian, how did you clean the potentiometer? Thanks

 

When I purchased mine (@47K miles) the car had hardly been used by the previous owner and the Steering Tilt didn't work at all.
I managed to "exercise" it and it now works most of the time. The motors sound strong, so I wouldn't want to replace them.

Has anyone had success in replacing only the Potentiometer?
